Dear Families, These are tough times for all of us, and already we miss the kids. As we sit here together as a grade level, we are discussing ways to keep the students focused and engaged. School is closed from March 16 - March 27. During that time, students will complete review assignments, and we will not include new instruction at this time. If school is out for longer than that period, we will make adjustments accordingly. First, communication is going to be key for all of us. Students should check email daily each morning for directions for assignments. Second, students and parents should expect that we will be available for email communication between 10am and 2pm each day. If you write to us after 2pm, I will get back to you the next morning. I will be posting assignments in either Google Classroom or Seesaw, but I don’t want to overwhelm anybody. We would also like to keep a balance of online work and book work. And, we would like to help establish a routine for all of us. It would be helpful for me if you are able to email me at the end of the first week with an update of how your child is doing with the assignments. This is all so new, for them and for myself. I want to be able to make adjustments along the way and respond to the needs of the students. Please check the Distance Learning tab on this site for weekly (hopefully not daily) updates. The important thing to know is that each child will receive a weekly schedule of assignments.
